We believe that prayer is the power house behind every vibrant parish!
Jesus said: "You will receive all that you pray for provided you have faith" Mt. 21:22
Our prayer group began in 2015 in response to the needs of the Gardner Catholic Community when we were facing the closing of churches and merging four parishes into our present Annunciation Parish. It was in praying for those struggling with our local situation that Jesus' words, "Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am in their midst." that the Holy Spirit sparked the inspiration that we truly needed God's Spirit among us, which further sparked the inspiration to invite others to join together in praying for the needs of the entire Gardner Catholic Community, especially for those most affected by these changes.
With Jesus, our Intercessor and the Holy Spirit, the Light that guides us, we gather together twice a month for one hour to pray for the needs of our faith community and the world. We offer our petitions and give praise, honor and thanks to our heavenly Father for his unconditional love and mercy through various prayers of the Church, song, Sacred Scripture, silent reflection and sharing.
Today we see that God has been listening. We are moving forward as a parish. God, in His Holy Spirit, is guiding us toward becoming one community of faith striving to live out the Gospel. Even though we are unable to gather in person at this time, group partcipants are still gathering by conference call.
If this prayer style interests you, and if you are available, we invite you to consider joining us every other Monday afternoon at 1:30 pm.
