The St. Vincent dePaul Society is a worldwide Christian community; founded in Paris in 1833. It remains an international Catholic voluntary service organization of lay people, men and women. The society serves those in need regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinion.
Our parish chapter of this organization operates a food pantry, provides limited financial assistance to struggling individuals, and makes referrals to community service providers. In addition we help fund important activities for the less fortunate and provide holiday meals for families who would be without.
We maintain a call line that is monitored by members of the society who assess the needs of the individuals who contact us and provide assistance where possible.
Individuals who wish to become a member of the St Vincent de Paul society should contact the individuals listed below. Another way to participate in the charitable work of the society is to make donations. In the rear of our churches are baskets where non-perishable food donations may be left that will help to stock our food pantry. Financial donations are placed in the bank and are used to provide for those in need as decided by an information gathering process and discussion at council meetings.
CALL THE RECTORY AND ASK TO BE CONNECTED TO THE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL LINE.
